If You Could Pick Only 3 Nutritional Strategies...

I was recently asked the question…


If you could only DO 3 things nutritionally, what would they be?


This was a tricky question. In fact, I couldn’t answer it right away. I first thought of Genie from Aladdin. “If you had 3 nutritional wishes, what would they be?”


After much debate and consideration, I came up with my list.


First, my criteria.


It had to be something that anyone could do. Sure fasting for a week would cause you to lose some weight, but that’s not what we’re talking about here.


Second, it had to be universal. Some strategies may work for certain people, but not others. These had to be universal strategies.


Third, it had to be something to DO. It couldn’t be something NOT to do. Don’t worry, we’ll get to that next week. Without any further ado, here is my list in no particular order:


#1 - Drink enough water.


Everyone knows this, but is everyone doing it? Here’s a great article if you’re wanting to know how much that is.


A good guideline is 1 liter per every 50 pounds of body weight. Add water for hot climates, intense activity, and coffee consumption.


Let water replace sodas, juices, energy drinks, and loaded caffeinated drinks.


# 2 - Eat more foods that are vitamin- and nutrient-rich from whole food sources.


This includes colorful fruits and vegetables, protein-rich foods, healthy fats, and smart carbs.


Let these foods crowd out the processed, nutrient-poor foods.


#3 - Work on your portions
