What are you hoping that I say? Paleo? Vegan? Keto? South Beach? Pizza? (That’s an actual thing...check it out).
For today, in our one-minute nutrition style, we will not go in depth on the pros and cons of each of these diets.
So what is the best diet?
The best diet is the one that YOU can follow consistently.
To quote Krista Scott-Dixon from PN, “The decent method you follow is better than the “perfect” one you quit.”
If you’re eating foods you don’t like, constantly hungry, and feeling like your will power is waning, perhaps a change is in order.
As we have said in previous posts, let go of perfection. Be OK with “good enough.”
But, Mark, if I’m not perfect in my diet, what do I do when I eat that entire pizza on Friday night?
When you fall off the horse, and you will, dust yourself off and start again. No guilt. No making up for yesterday. Just a fresh start.
Do this over time, slowly improving your food choices, little by little. Don’t let a bad day, or weekend wreck you for months.
Just get back to that decent way of eating that you can follow most of the time.
I saw this shirt the other day. It read “World’s Okayest Golfer.”
Let’s strive to be on the World’s Okayest Diet…one-minute at a time.
