I love simple.

As things start to get more complicated, I tune out.

Today’s wisdom from Brendon Burchard is a new favorite of mine because of its simplicity.

It's the One Plate Rule.

Simply put, for each meal, eat one, reasonably sized plate of food.

That’s it.

Why?

1. It’s clear - You have clearly drawn lines on how much food you are eating.

2. You eat less - This eliminates snacking, seconds and overeating. If you want a dessert, have it on your “one plate.”

3. It improves self control - As you limit yourself to one plate, you will gain control over your food impulses.

4. It improves digestion - By not snacking in between meals you will allow your body to digest the food you eat.

5. It increases awareness - When we snack throughout the day we lose sight of what we have actually eaten. Unsurprisingly, we usually eat way more than we think, which of course has negative consequences for our health.

Many of the healthiest people in the world have this one commonality. They simply eat less.

This concrete, easy to understand rule, helps us to accomplish just that. So, today, let’s give one plate a try...one-minute at a time.
